Mobile Genetic ElementsMonash University and The University of Melbourne are co-hosting the second meeting on Mobile Genetic Elements following the success of the first meeting held in Sydney in 2017.
The focus of the meeting remains on the identification and biology of the many different types of mobile elements that contribute to the variability of prokaryotic genomes. Genome sequences likely include a wealth of novel types of mobile elements waiting to be discovered and documented. Mobile elements facilitate the spread of new traits among genomes within and between different species, and all aspects of the different forms that mobile elements take, what they can do and how they do it, as well as their interactions, will be explored. The meeting will prioritise oral presentations for postgraduate students and early career researchers. |
